KINTO announce Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association as a national corporate charity for 2023

KINTO announce Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association as a national corporate charity for 2023.

The MND Association focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Motor neurone disease is a fatal, rapidly progressing neurological condition affecting up to 5000 adults in the UK at any one time. The disease causes messages from nerves (motor neurones) in the brain and spinal cord that control movement to gradually stop reaching the muscles, leading them to weaken, stiffen and waste. The result is that people become locked in a failing body, unable to move, talk and eventually breathe. MND kills a third of people within a year and more than half within two years of diagnosis.

Matthew Rumble, CEO at KINTO, said: ” MND Association’s strong ambitious to improve the quality of life of those affected by motor neurone disease are impressive. We hope our support can contribute to their determination to continuously invest in research to help understand the disease and ultimately find a cure.’’

KINTO is planning to engage in various activities to raise funds and awareness for the charity. At KINTO, there’s a Sports, Wellbeing & Social committee which plans different fundraising events throughout the year e.g. bake sales, raffles, auctions, sponsored walks, to name a few.

This year’s target is £12,000 which will be split between MND and KINTO’s local corporate charity.
