Take a number plate off a vehicle - Postal Process

Retention postal allows you to name a grantee and nominee. This means the plate will be held in the customer’s name and not transferred to the holder of the logbook. This can take between 2-6 weeks due to the process having to be completed by DVLA manually. You will need to pay a DVLA charge of £80 as well as KINTO admin fee if applicable to your contract.

Alternatively, you can use the Retention Online option.

Please fill in the relevant details below. Once the request is received, we’ll get in touch with you about the £80 DVLA charge as well the KINTO admin fee, if applicable to your contract.

Providing your details here gives us permission to contact you to answer your query. However, we would also love to send you details of our best offers and latest products and services by email.
