The dynamics of creating effective, yet desirable, vehicle choice lists and policies have never been so complex.
Government taxation, and the cars that manufacturers are producing, are driving us towards ever greener vehicles, placing us on the cusp of the most significant shift in the cars we drive since combustion engine vehicles were first introduced.
With most retention policies lasting 3 to 4 years, this move towards ultra-low emission (ULEV) and electric vehicles (EVs) must be factored in as part of a robust and future-proofed vehicle policy.
Yet, traditional petrol and diesel cars remain hugely popular, with many drivers having concerns over the viability of ULEVs and EVs for their job roles and lifestyles.
Add to this, the intense interest in the car policy and overall fleet operation from HR, finance, sales, operations, customer service and risk, and you find there’s a lot of people to please when getting the choice lists right.
At KINTO, we have extensive experience of developing choice lists, grade bandings and advising on policies for organisations large and small, across private, public and not-for profit sectors.
The policies we have created enable our customers to operate within tight budgets, attract and retain the right calibre of staff and meet their operational and service needs.

We have built a strong partnership between KINTO and Molson Coors CTS over many years. KINTO fully understand the demands of our commercial fleet and we both share a common goal of reducing our vehicles off road. With a fleet of 200+ mobile engineers we are always looking for ways of reducing unnecessary downtime in our fleet. Our vans are mobile workshops, if they are off the road, it’s hard for our engineers to carry out their day job. KINTO and their supply partners are working with us to explore new opportunities to keep us moving, we are currently looking into the possibility of using mobile maintenance and servicing for our fleet, this will reduce the need to take our vans off the road. KINTO has a wealth of knowledge and expertise to advise us of all the changes in the Commercial vehicle market, we have called upon this knowledge to carry out some major projects. We have recently re branded all our fleet and currently looking to make some improvements in the manual handling devices in the vans. KINTO has been key to delivering these projects successfully.

At Incora, our green agenda is important to us so we look at ways of reducing our carbon footprint across our organisation. Having a green company car scheme supports this. We offer PHEV and EVs only to employees who are eligible for the scheme, we also help them get set up by installing charge points at their homes and as well as providing workplace charging. We work with KINTO, as it was clear that they shared our values and have the ability to support us as we continue to further improve upon our green agenda.

We needed to move the contract from our incumbent fleet provider to KINTO within a short timeframe. The transfer was completed very quickly and efficiently by the KINTO project management team who also ensured that all legal issues were dealt with in a timely manner to ensure there was no delay in the mobilisation. We provided our requirements, policies and internal processes to the project management team who subsequently implemented our needs with minimal impact to the business. All cost of change was restricted to the fleet department, ensuring that there was no decline in productivity to the business as a whole. The KINTO price structure has also enabled us to make savings to our fleet operational costs. The service provided by the project management team, including taking responsibility for tasks outside of their normal day-to-day role, has been fantastic with all issues, risks and queries being resolved quickly and efficiently by the team.

Since implementing KINTO Autobid, we have been able to save significant time when searching for contract hire quotes. The system’s user friendly interface has made it easy for us to obtain competitive quotations from a panel of funders. We have been particularly impressed by the speed of response and how easy this system is to use. It is early days for us, but we are optimistic that cost savings can be made on our vehicle acquisitions and we will work closely with KINTO to track and report these savings.

The on-boarding process was very good and I can’t fault the way it was project managed for us; the regular meetings and discussions were excellent and gave me great confidence that we would be able to achieve the switchover in a successful manner. The legal implications and contractual issues were also well controlled and communicated, leaving me in no doubt that everything would be covered off – which it was. In terms of timescales the on-boarding exercise is not particularly quick but I never expected it to be so. Any supplier claiming that the process will be completed very quickly will not be going about it properly and that’s where KINTO inspire a high level of confidence because the project is mapped out in detail and demonstrates that they know what they’re talking about. This is particularly true where we required bespoke consideration to our particular needs for which KINTO took the trouble to consider our requirements carefully. One key thing that KINTO do well is they keep the original Business Development Manager in the on-boarding process for a long period of time to ensure that the requirements discussed pre-tender and during the tender are kept in focus and fully understood. In terms of disruption to our day to day activities, switching from our old Fleet Management Company to KINTO has not really caused any problems.
