We’ve put together a comprehensive list of dates and events for fleet, transport, procurement and HR professionals in 2019. Make sure you check back as we’ll add to the list as dates are announced throughout the year.

January

1 January: From January 1, the International Accounting Standards Board’s new regime comes into force. For companies reporting under IFRS, this means that lease activity will need to be counted on balance sheet.

1 January: WLTP is a crucial industry-wide change, and the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) has recently issued guidelines on the fuel economy and Co2 values that should be displayed to customers from 1st January 2019. The first of January date applies only to showrooms, and further changes of what information is made available to be customers can be expected throughout 2019.

23/24 January: Future Fleet Forum, a must for public sector and local authority fleet and transport managers. Find out more here.

24 January: The Great British Fleet Event takes place in London, showcasing the newest and most exciting products and services across the industry. Find out more here.

February

1 February: From February 1st, haulage firms will benefit from a cheaper road user levy if they use less polluting lorries. The legislative changes to allow these rate changes were brought in as part of the 2019 Finance Bill introduced in the Budget on 29 October 2018.

12/13 February: Move 19, billed as the most important mobility event, where disruptive technology and innovation drive much needed change, Move is an important date for your calendar if mobility is on your agenda. Find out more here.

March

In March, we’ll see the Chancellor’s Spring Statement. It is expected to reveal the outcome of the Government’s review into the effect of the new emissions tests on vehicle taxes.

7 March: The widely acclaimed BVRLA Annual Dinner returns to London. Find out more here.

20 March: The Fleet News Awards will be celebrating the pinnacle of fleet achievement. Find out more here.

26 March: Business Van Awards will be celebrating the best in class in the industry. Find out more here.

29 March: This the expected date of the UK’s departure from the European Union, also marking the two-year anniversary of the Government’s decision to invoke Article 50.

April

4 April- SMMT Connected 2019, in its third year, will be bringing together automotive professionals to discuss the future of mobility. Find out more here.

6 April: From April 6, benefits that are associated with Salary Sacrifice vehicles – for example, insurance and maintenance – will be included in the tax calculations as part of OpRA.

8 April: To help improve air quality, the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) will be introduced in Central London. Most vehicles will need to meet new, tighter exhaust emissions standards or pay a daily charge to travel within the area of the ULEZ. Other cities, such as Southampton and Birmingham are expected to introduce Clean Air Zones in 2019.

September

September will see our third best practice event, Fleet Exchange. Further details to follow.

From 1 September 2019, all new LCVs registered must have WLTP figures.

October

Always an important date for fleet, in October or November we will see the Chancellor deliver the Autumn Budget.

8/9 October- Fleet Live, the UK’s leading fleet event, returns to the NEC giving fleet professionals a chance to speak to experts and peers about the future of fleet. Find out more here.

19/25 November- Road Safety Week, organised by Brake the road safety charity returns to promote road safety in the UK. Find out more here.
