KINTO organises volunteering days for staff to support Rowans Hospice

Volunteering days at Rowans Hospice

KINTO and Rowans Hospice have organised volunteering days during the summer months for KINTO staff to help support the charity.

Four different groups were allocated to help with gardening and processing donations in July and August. Staff described the experience as ‘great and rewarding’.

As part of the KINTO Employee Benefits Package, each permanent KINTO employee is allowed to take two days per year to volunteer and support the charities they feel passionate about.

Ellie Redding who supported Rowans by processing donations at their warehouse said: “Great insight into how the donations are processed and distributed! And a great local charity to support!”. Brooke Sanderson added: “Very rewarding. Nice seeing how donations are processed. Local, amazing charity. Had a lovely day!”

Tom Kindler who used both of his volunteering days to support Rowans Hospice said: “I had a very interesting few days seeing all the hard work the team put in behind the scenes keeping the shops well stocked. Thank you for having me, Rowans!”

Selina Fielon who helped with gardening shared: “I had a great day giving back to the community. I feel good that we are making a difference. I also didn’t realise how much the volunteers do, so it was lovely to support them. More people should do this!”

Many KINTO employees expressed their interest to support the charity by volunteering, so KINTO and Rowans are planning to organise more volunteering days in the future.
