Electric vans expected in 2022

In recent years, the electric vehicle market is growing, with an increasing number of manufacturers introducing electric vans. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the demand for vans have rocketed, as most consumers have moved toward online shopping.

As a result of the global challenges such as Covid, the automotive industry is currently under great pressure which is having a significant impact on the supply and delivery of vehicles. For example, the current lead time for some of the new car and van models is 12-18 months. According to experts, the lead times for new electric vehicles have fallen, however our advice is to plan well ahead to avoid disruption.

Below, we outline some of the electric vans expected in 2022.

 

Toyota Proace City Electric

Toyota Proace

Toyota Proace City Electric offers a maximum payload of 800kg for the standard wheelbase version and 750kg for the long wheelbase model. The range is up to 168 miles.

 

 

 

 

Stellantis brands – Citroën, Peugeot and Vauxhall. The brands offer the passenger car version of their van models, fully electric.

Citroën ë-Relay

Citroen

Citroën ë-Relay is now available on the market. It offers a payload set up to 1,150kg and a range of up to 139 miles.

Peugeot e-Boxer

Peugeot Boxer

Peugeot e-Boxer is now on sale. It offers up to 139 miles of range and has a payload of up to 1,200kg.

Vauxhall Movano-e

VX Movano E

Vauxhall Movano-e is now on sale, offering a maximum payload of up to 2,100 kg and up to 139 miles range.

Renault Kangoo E-Tech

Renault E

The Kangoo E-Tech will go on sale in late 2022, with a range of up to 164 miles. The payload is expected to be around 700-800kg.

Mercedes eCitan 

Mercedes e-Citan

The Mercedes’s smallest van Citan will arrive in electric form late in 2022. The eCitan will offer a range of up to 177 miles.

Nissan Townstar

Nissan Townstar

With a range of up to 177 miles, Nissan Townstar will be on sale early in 2022. It offers up to 800 kg payload.

Ford E-Transit

Ford E-Transit

The Ford E-Transit is expected in Spring 2022, with a range of up to 198 miles. With its 25 different version to choose from, the Ford’s model is the most powerful Transit on sale at the moment.

Morris Commercial JE

Morris JE

The Morris Commercial JE is scheduled to go on sale late in 2022. The range is yet not confirmed, but Morris is predicting around 200 miles and claiming a payload of 1,000 kg.

Volkswagen ID. Buzz Cargo

This model has a payload of 800kg, and up to 310 miles range.

The new British – built Arrival electric van is going in production in 2022, promising a range of up to 180 miles depending on battery size.
